Challenge
Bewley Homes 65-unit development required a Solar Lighting solution in line with their sustainability policies. The scheme had some challenges due to the fairly heavy woodland presence.
Solution
Bewley Homes have been working with SolarVision (SVLT) on a number of their developments so they came to SVLT to design a solar scheme that would accommodate the heavily treed environment. SLVT proposed a scheme that was predominated column driven as it was essential that the solar wraps were at a height that would escape the canopies of the trees, this was presented to Bewley and subsequently approved.
Outcome
The site has called off the streetlights in phases and is still work in progress, but it is anticipated that the final phase will be in the next few months, completing the development and where the residents will have the benefit of a solar lighting solution with no electricity cost to run the lights.
