Challenge
The residents of Lockstone Estate were concerned about the failings of there existing lighting system which continually shorted out whenever there was a bit of rain. They investigated how it could be repaired but it would have meant substantial disruption and mess to the estate with the need of trench digging and cabling. After a number of residents meetings and discussion they decided that they would investigate the solar option, there were however a number of skeptical residents who found it hard to believe that solar would be the solution. Due to the number of possible solar options in the market the committee was charged with researching the solar market and then recommend the solar columns and bollards that should be used. The challenge was finding a product that was aesthetically pleasing and was in keeping with the estate’s environment.
Solution
After extensive research by the estates committee, they called upon SolarVision to meet with them to discuss a solution and after a number of meetings the residents they decided that they would look to instruct SolarVision. The Heritage product gave them what they were looking for and came recommended by another local Estate that had used the product. The committee decided, due to the skepticism of some of the residents that they would first look to purchase just 2 columns and 3 bollards and so instructed SolarVision on that brief. Solar Vision moved into action, conducting a GPR survey to ensure that there were no obstructions or services in the proposed locations once this was all cleared, SolarVision got to work installing the Heritage columns and 3 Helia bollards programming the lights in line with the estates requirements and using the sensor to activate the light when programmed not to be on.
Outcome
The installation of the Heritage Columns and the Helia bollards were completed in a day using the root mount installation method for the columns and a screw for the bollards. The installation caused very little inconvenience to the residents and once installed were fully operational, using all the features that the product offers from programming dimming and sensor use. Giving the residents the peace of mind that they could now walk along the road /footpath in the knowledge that they are well lit
