Challenge
Miller Homes had a footpath at the front of their site that needed to be lit before they could have any occupations, whilst they had installed traditional street columns there was no grid connection available at the time. Houses were ready for occupation so they need a solution urgently.
Solution
Miller contacted Solar Vision seeking a solution. We recommended our ASTRAL street light as a way to temporarily light the 177m footpath. Miller did not want to purchase, so the solution was to hire the columns which is what they elected to do.
Outcome
Solar Vision installed eight 5m columns along the footpath providing lighting for safe passage along the footpath, and in doing this allowed them to take occupations on their completed homes. These were in situ for over 4 months. Due to the flexibility of our product these columns were actually installed using the ground root method rather than the usual mounting of a concrete block as that is what Miller preferred as the footpath was at the front of the site and appearance was important to them.
