Challenge
The Borough has a traveller's site that they required to light, and wanted to have an installation that would be the least disruptive as possible so they came to Solar Vision to see what we had to offer by way of a solution.
Solution
Solar Vision had a site visit with the borough and their electrical contractor and discussed the alternatives and after some consideration the borough decided on the Astral column as the solution which would provide the light required and contemporary enough to blend in with the location and offer the least disruption.
Outcome
Kensington and Chelsea instructed Solar Vision to proceed, after conducting a GPR survey to ascertain the location of any services, discussion with the Borough and the residents, the column location was agreed. We were advised by the residents that it was important that the columns did not obstruct any of the homes should they want to re-locate them.
Working with R & MA Stewart the Boroughs Electrical Contractor, the columns and solar wraps were delivered to site with R & MA Stewart erecting the columns under Solar Vision supervision and once installed Solar Vision commissioned the columns. The Astral Columns are now providing the site with good lighting, so the residents can now walk home safely at night.
